LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors, bearing the name of one of its two founders, was created in 1946. John LaPorte and his partner had a vision of growth based on hard work, the highest level of client service, and technical expertise, but it’s unlikely they could have imagined today’s LaPorte:

Based on a consultative, collaborative approach to client relationships, we begin our services by developing an understanding of our clients and their businesses. “When you talk, we listen.” And we explore with you what matters most, whether accounting, tax, or advisory-related.

The knowledge that they gain from client experience and continuing education leads to more effective communication, so that our teams can provide higher-quality work with more specific insights. LaPorte’s leadership training, including LaPorte U, builds the skills essential to our consultative, collaborative approach.

LaPorte is also keenly focused on sharing its knowledge with clients. The result is regular blog postings and presentations throughout the year on new industry and service line developments.

Across our five offices, we operate as “One Firm,” serving clients with a shared service philosophy and shared technology to erase boundaries. As a result, we can offer clients the best engagement staff to help you meet challenges and take advantage of opportunities.

At LaPorte, we believe our commitment to the communities in which we live and work is equally rewarding. Through the volunteerism of our five offices’ staff and contributions by the firm, we committed almost half a million dollars in time and money to multiple community and civic organizations in 2018. Individually, our employees actively support close to 100 community and civic organizations.

Experience Matters

Throughout our firm, we focus on the fluid exchange of knowledge and experience – our long-term professionals serving as mentors to our newer staff and our new hires sharing their fresh ideas in return. We take the same approach in staffing engagements so that our clients are not burdened with training our staff as they move onto an engagement. Our national and international clients also benefit from our decades-long national firm affiliation.

LaPorte strongly supports staff development, and the result is that over 70 percent of professional staff are CPAs and many hold advanced degrees and/or other professional certifications.
