The Nonprofit Industry Group of LaPorte, a Mauldin & Jenkins Company, comprises over 40 professionals serving nonprofit clients in a variety of organizations. In addition to LaPorte’s traditional audit and tax services, this multi-disciplinary group offers significant management consulting services relevant to our nonprofit clients.
While many firms have industry concentrations, LaPorte’s nonprofit group meets regularly to cross-train, identify best practices, review industry trends, and work together to reach collective solutions for over 300 nonprofit clients.
We are proud that 13 members of the Nonprofit Industry Group have successfully completed the AICPA Not-for-Profit Certificate I Program and four members have successfully completed the AICPA Not-for-Profit Certificate II Program. We also have three members who have earned the BoardSource Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting.
Commitment to the Nonprofit Industry
Members of our industry group attend the annual AICPA National Not-for-Profit Industry Conference and are involved in planning the Louisiana Society of CPAs Nonprofit Conference, for which our members have presented and attended.
In addition, we reach beyond out client base to support the nonprofit industry more broadly through events such as the firm’s nonprofit educational seminar series, which is in its ninth year. Over the last year we’ve provided numerous blogs and webcasts on topics including utilizing data, diversifying revenue streams, single audits, and accounting and audit updates. Previous seminar topics have addressed building a better board, fundraising, board governance, cybersecurity, anti-fraud internal controls, ethics and the 990, and new accounting standards to name a few.
We also offer peer benchmarking reports to clients. Above all, we take great pride in the active volunteerism of our employees in Louisiana and Texas.
