The Society of Louisiana CPAs has selected the award winners for the Women to Watch awards, and this year, both recipients are from LaPorte! Director Wendi Berthelot was named the winner in the Experienced Leader category and Senior Manager Trish Thibodeau won in the Emerging Leader category. Both women work in the Audit and Assurance Services Group at LaPorte.
Wendi’s rise through the ranks of LaPorte is defined by a steady commitment to providing hands-on, proactive, and ongoing service to her clients and the firm. She embraces her role as an advisor to her clients by understanding their unique situations and looking for both immediate and long-term solutions to help them achieve their goals.
Wendi applies this same advisor mindset in her community service work. She leverages her financial skillset to help leaders focus on the future strength of their organizations while remaining responsible stewards of their funds. She works to ensure that these organizations remain financially viable while staying true to their missions.
In her role as senior manager, Trish provides audit and consulting services to a variety of clients with a focus on the healthcare, employee benefit plan, and public sector industries. She has developed a strong rapport with our clients and they particularly appreciate her ability to make complex issues easier to understand. And they have noted that she approaches even the most difficult of conversations with humor and grace.
She serves as a leader in LaPorte’s Community Service Committee and recruits team members to participate. In her personal life, Trish is very active in giving of her time and talents to the community. She serves on the Medical and Healthcare Services, Not-for-Profit Issues, and Women’s Initiatives committees with the LCPA. She is also treasurer of the American Business Women’s Association and the Junior League of Greater New Orleans. She is also a founding member of NOLA Night Lights, an LED Hula Hooping marching krewe.
