Chavgney “Chav” Pierce, CPA/ABV, Tax Director-in-Charge of LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors, has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2020 MoneyMakers award from New Orleans CityBusiness. The MoneyMakers award “recognizes financial professionals whose fiscal work has set the pace for their company and the region” and honorees are selected based on their industry and community involvement.
During his long tenure with the firm, Chav has taken the initiative needed to grow both his skillsets and the capabilities of the firm. Chav’s first leadership role at LaPorte was for the business valuation practice. During his tenure, he grew the department by 300% and the revenue by an impressive 800%. Since becoming Director-in-Charge of LaPorte’sTax Services in 2017, he has led the tax group to grow revenues by over 18%.
Along with helping the firm grow, Chav has also helped his colleagues expand their skills. He has served as a coach, providing technical and client guidance on engagements, and as a mentor, encouraging his mentees to set and meet new goals.
As passionate as Chav is about helping others in LaPorte succeed, he is an equally ardent supporter of his community. As a participant in the ForeKids! Foundation for 24 years, he has helped the children of the Greater New Orleans area and Baton Rouge. Chav also volunteers with Hope House to help end the cycle of child abuse.
