LaPorte Director Named to Louisiana Tax Commission

Gregory Romig, CPA

Gregory P. Romig, CPA, Director of Audit and Assurance Services, has been appointed to serve on the Louisiana Tax Commission, pending Senate approval. Romig will represent Public Service Commission District 3 which includes St. John, St. James, and Assumption parishes, along with portions of Orleans, St. Charles, Ascension, Iberville, and East Baton Rouge parishes.

The Louisiana Tax Commission is a key regulatory body tasked with ensuring the fair and equitable assessment of property taxes across Louisiana. Its appointees play critical roles in overseeing property assessments, hearing appeals, setting guidelines, training assessors, and sometimes engaging in equalization efforts to correct disparities in property valuation.

Serving on the Louisiana Tax Commission is just the latest way in which Greg has worked to make a tangible difference in the community. His long-standing commitment to community service includes serving on the boards of Bridge House Grace House, Birdfoot Festival, and St. Andrews Episcopal School, in addition to his efforts volunteering one on one as a mentor through Isaiah 43.
