The Society of Louisiana CPAs has named Jodie B. Arceneaux, CPA, as this year’s honoree of the Distinguished Public Service Award. Jodie is a tax director in LaPorte’s Houma office.
Professionally, Jodie is dedicated to not only her clients but also to building a better business climate in the region. She helps clients find solutions to persevere through business challenges such as downturns in their industry or business interruption after a hurricane, and also uses her accounting and finance knowledge to advocate for local businesses with legislators.
As evidenced by the name of this award, Jodie is equally passionate about serving in her community. Throughout her career, she has made it a priority to lend her financial expertise to a variety of community organizations including Junior Achievement, The Haven, and Habitat for Humanity, as well as numerous chamber and business organizations. Her efforts have helped her fellow Louisianians own a home, overcome abuse, and further their education. She works hard to offer others the encouragement and support that she needed to help overcome earlier hardships.
