AS Director-in-Charge Named a MoneyMakers Honoree

Kevin Hand was named a MoneyMakers honoree

Kevin Hand, CPA, Accounting Services Director-in-Charge, has been selected as one of the honorees of the 2022 MoneyMakers award from New Orleans CityBusiness. The MoneyMakers award honors local financial professional for achievements in their respective industries and honorees are selected based on their industry and community involvement.

When Kevin took over leadership of Accounting Services at LaPorte, the department comprised three professionals working from two offices. Today, over 20 professionals are providing accounting and advisory services to over 300 clients from five offices in two states.

Through his leadership, his focus on meeting client needs, and his understanding of a constantly changing future in technology, Kevin, working closely with his team, has transformed Accounting Services at LaPorte. With his guidance and enthusiasm, the department has evolved from its focus on transactional to advisory services; from an “adding machine” service line to the cloud. And thanks to Kevin’s constant encouragement and vision, he and his team always keep their sights on what’s to come.

“During his tenure with LaPorte, Kevin has helped the firm and its clients keep pace with and even anticipate accounting service trends. He has helped grow his department by the increase in department professionals, growth of its client base, and a 24 percent increase in revenue over the past three years,” said Eric Bosch, LaPorte President and CEO. “I believe Kevin truly exemplifies the spirit of the New Orleans CityBusiness MoneyMaker awards.”

Kevin exhibits this same passion and dedication in his active involvement with the Visiting Pet Program since 2008. Visiting Pets serves up to 20 facilities in the state with between 100-110 members and provides pet therapy to healthcare and other facilities, such as hospitals, retirement centers, and retirement/convalescence homes. Kevin has served in a variety of roles in the organization including Buddy Program mentor, monthly visiting pet handler to hospitals and nursing homes, board member, and board treasurer, among others.
