Stephen “Steve” Romig, CPA, was recently awarded the AICPA’s Public Service Award for Individuals. The award “honors an individual who has demonstrated outstanding public service activities from among a select field of candidates, each of whom have been nominated by AICPA members or societies across the country.”

A fomer managing partner of LaPorte, Romig has demonstrated his strong dedication to public service throughout his career.  He has volunteered his time with a variety of nonprofit organizations, including The Good Shepherd School, Bridge House/Grace House, and the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission, to name a few. Romig currently volunteers every Monday at the Harry Tompson Center, coordinating services for the homeless and lending a welcomed ear to members of this underserved population.
