ABOUT STEVEN

Steven began his professional career in 1998 and since then has served as an auditor, tax preparer, and small business consultant. His experience in different arenas gives him the ability to provide guidance to clients in many areas, including accounting, payroll, sales tax, cash management, accounting procedures, and general business consulting. Over the years, Steven has helped clients in various stages of their businesses: from the start-up phase through day-to-day operations and from succession to exit strategy planning. Steven works with many owners and management teams in planning short- and long-term goals to develop the overall strategies of their businesses.

In addition, Steven has assisted clients with services such as accounting operations setup and design, agreed-upon procedures, assurance, budgeting, cash flow analyses, financial statement analyses, and banking/financing needs. He has provided accounting and business consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, with a focus on energy and dealerships. Other clients have included private equity groups, large investors, and employee benefit plans. Steven regularly advises small to large businesses owners on reevaluating their businesses’ accounting operations and transforming data into useful information that can assist management in making smart business decisions.

ENERGY

Growing up and being located in Houma, Louisiana, Steven has always been exposed to energy companies and their support services. Now, he serves as a co-leader of the Energy Industry Group. Many of his clients over the years have operated in the Gulf of Mexico and inland waterways, supporting exploration and the mining of oil and gas. Companies providing inland and offshore marine vessels, rental tools and equipment, and staffing all play important roles in this industry. Steven has been able to help them develop strategies that address revenue analyses, cashflow needs, capital requirements, and future expenditures – all areas that his clients have had to navigate. Understanding sales tax and reporting requirements as Steven does, he works with clients’ accounting personnel to see that they remain compliant. As an advisor, Steven works with bankers, lawyers, and other professionals to help his clients achieve their goals.

DEALERSHIP SERVICES

Steven has helped his dealership clients address a number of common issues: acquisitions, day-to-day operations, succession planning, and all that comes between. He provides owners and management teams analyses of trends and summaries of financial information so that they can make informed decisions. Steven works with controllers and CFOs to make sure the books accurately reflect the activity of the business, and he has discussed and worked on items such as LIFO, manufacturing reporting, and other general business issues. Steven’s focus is consistently on helping his dealership clients identify and develop strategies to achieve their needs.
