Sarah Franatovich, CPA

DIRECTOR, AUDIT AND ASSURANCE SERVICES

ABOUT SARAH

Beginning her professional career in 2004, Sarah brings her audit and assurance clients a depth of experience gained from serving a broad range of industries including dealerships and nonprofit organizations. She also leads the firm’s services related to historic tax credits. In addition to performing and leading audits, Sarah focuses on developing a thorough understanding of her clients in order to be proactive in her advisory role including education on standards and best practices.

DEALERSHIP SERVICES

Sarah leads the LaPorte Dealership Services Industry Group that provides audit, tax, and advisory services to automobile, recreational vehicle, truck, and equipment dealerships. Sarah has been in the trenches with her clients through all phases of their growth, assisting with their compliance needs as well as with operations and complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions. She also has been a presenter at dealership association conferences.

NONPROFIT

Sarah has served nonprofit organizations by leading audits, providing internal control reviews, and assisting with internal accounting issues, including complex accounting calculations. She also conducts training to educate nonprofit board members on their roles and responsibilities. Sarah is a member of the LaPorte Nonprofit Industry Group and has also completed the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Certificate I and II programs. She has presented at LaPorte’s Nonprofit Educational Summer Series and at select clients’ national conferences.

HISTORIC TAX CREDITS

Sarah completes Louisiana Department of Revenue required examinations for qualifying historic rehabilitation credit transactions. She provides guidance on the overall process including what to expect related to the applications process, the recording of the rehabilitation costs, and the final cost report which is submitted for approval of the credits. In addition, she handles required agreed-upon procedures for other tax credits.
