Ryan Kelley, CPA

Ryan began his career at a Big Four firm in 2003, serving clients in a wide range of industries and joined LaPorte in 2016. He has provided professional audit services to several large multinational clients in accordance with PCAOB and International Standards of Auditing (ISA) requirements and under US GAAP and IFRS and has successfully coordinated global engagements. Through auditing public companies and going through several PCAOB inspections, Ryan has gained experience identifying financial statement risks and understanding how they are analyzed by regulators.

Ryan’s experience in multiple industries allows him to help companies interpret and apply new or challenging accounting standards. For example, he has provided consulting services to assist with adoption of the new revenue standards, the new lease standards, and conversion from US GAAP to IFRS. Ryan’s audit experience includes SEC registrant filings and private company reporting.

He has worked in both domestic and international offices and has significant experience in onboarding and transitioning new clients. Ryan’s experience with a wide variety of industries over the years allows him to bring insight and best practices to his clients.

While the majority of Ryan’s time has been in serving the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry (E&P), he also has strong experience serving midstream and downstream companies. In addition to Ryan’s audit background, he has broad-based experience advising clients on the conversion from US GAAP to IFRS and on oil and gas-specific technical topics. Ryan is a member of the LaPorte Energy Industry Group.

Since joining LaPorte, Ryan has been a member of the LaPorte Healthcare Industry Group. He manages nonprofit and governmental health systems with net patient service revenues ranging from $50 million to over $2 billion. Ryan has presented various topics impacting the healthcare industry at the Louisiana Hospital Association, Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LSCPA), and HFMA events.

Ryan is the leader of the LaPorte Risk Advisory Services Group. He has extensive knowledge in reporting under Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and internal controls implementation.
