Matthew E. Baham, CPA



Matthew provides tax services for privately owned businesses and high-net-worth individuals. His client services include filing and compliance, with a focus on planning and providing insights and solutions. Matthew prepares federal and state tax returns, provides tax research, advises on federal and state tax credits and incentives, provides representation before the IRS, and advises on tax strategies. He stays up to date with ever-changing tax legislation and developments that affect his clients, and he serves as a point of contact for his clients in a broad range of industries with a strategic focus on construction and real estate. Matthew began his professional career in 2008 and joined LaPorte in 2020.


Matthew is a member of the LaPorte Construction Industry Group. He provides tax consulting and planning ideas specific to the industry, such as entity selection for tax purposes, tax-favorable income tax reporting methods for long-term contracts, and guidance related to federal and state tax credits and incentives. Matthew is a member of CICPAC, a national organization of CPA firms focused on continuing education and building expertise in the construction industry.


Matthew serves his real estate clients by proactively planning and applying appropriate tax incentives and navigating the many advantages and complexities of the partnership tax structure. He provides tax guidance for businesses from development and acquisitions to dispositions of real estate through sales or exchange. A member of the Real Estate Industry Group, Matthew teaches continuing education courses for LaPorte tax practitioners serving the real estate industry.
