Metairie, LA 10/5/17 – LaPorte President and CEO William “Ted” Mason was recently named to the list of “Managing Partner Elite” by Accounting Today. Nominations for the award were submitted by public accounting firms nationwide and only ten honorees were selected. These honorees were selected based on a wide variety of criteria, including “data on revenue and staff growth; growth and expansion strategies implemented; leadership in building talented, dedicated staff; innovation in service lines, practice management and client service; and adoption and promotion of cutting-edge technology.”
Mason was selected for this honor based largely on his strategic vision for LaPorte. Under Mason’s leadership, firm revenues have grown 407 percent and the number of team members has grown 425 percent. Other deciding factors include the succession plan and disaster recovery plan he helped put in place when he became president and CEO. The disaster recovery plan proved especially useful after Hurricane Katrina when it allowed the firm to be back up and running one week after the storm devastated the region. With the recent Hurricane Harvey flooding in Houston, the plan allowed Houston team members to work remotely during the storm and through initial recovery.
“It is an honor to be recognized as a member of the MP Elite,” said Mason. “That said, I wouldn’t be able to implement our strategic vision without the support of our equity partners and our hardworking team members. I truly view this as a firm effort and firm honor,” he continued.
