LaPorte Announces Intent to Merge with Beyer, Stagni

Regional CPA firm LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors (LaPorte) has announced its intention to merge with Beyer, Stagni & Company (Beyer Stagni) following completion of due diligence procedures by both firms, according to William T. “Ted” Mason, president and CEO of LaPorte. The merger is scheduled to become official on December 1, 2015. The combined firm will operate as LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors. Beyer Stagni’s Houma office will become the fifth LaPorte location, joining existing offices in Metairie, Covington, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas. Beyer Stagni principals Roy M. Beyer, CPA; Arthur E. Stagni, CPA; Pam Fremen, CPA; and Jodie Arceneaux, CPA, will maintain key leadership roles as directors in LaPorte.

With the addition of Beyer Stagni, LaPorte will have a total staff of 180 people and revenue in excess of $25.5 million.

“This merger allows LaPorte to expand our geographic footprint along the Gulf Coast and to increase the reach of our services to clients with locations in Louisiana and Texas,” states Mason. “Beyer Stagni’s location in the heart of Louisiana’s oil and gas region and as Houma’s largest local firm increases our ability to serve existing Tri-Parish clients in Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary Parishes and to build on that client base.”

“We are pleased to join LaPorte in this strategic move, which will increase our breadth of client services and provide greater opportunities for our people to develop professionally,” says Roy M. Beyer, a principal of Beyer Stagni. “With LaPorte’s deep resources, we will be able to serve new and existing clients with expanded industry expertise and provide state-of-the-industry technical advice and consulting.” Beyer adds that “the merger with LaPorte, whose culture and commitment are similar to ours, enables us to enhance services to our clients as they face industry and regulatory changes.”
