Disaster Relief Resources for Immediate Needs of Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

As a Gulf Coast company with offices in Houston and Louisiana, we know that recovery takes a long time. And individuals need immediate resources to help get back on their feet. To that end, we’ve put together the following list of resources to contact for immediate help.

DisasterAssistance.gov – This website allows you to register with FEMA, provides a list of FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers for immediate needs, and offers advice on longer-term issues such as how to file a flood claim. You can also contact FEMA at 1.-800.621.FEMA (1.800.621.3362).

American Red Cross Get Help – This link on the American Red Cross website provides additional links to get help, find shelter, let loved ones know you are safe, etc.

United Way of Greater Houston – This page offers many resources, including a link to a comprehensive resource guide to help you get back on your feet.

Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster – Here you can access a list of links to partner members providing help in times of disaster.

Texas Workforce Commission – If you have lost your job as a result of the storm, you may be eligible to begin the process of applying for unemployment benefits here.

As you enter the rebuilding phase and are ready to face the business challenges ahead, we encourage you to review our disaster assistance for businesses resource page.

We have tried to provide some helpful links for you, but we have not stopped working to identify other resources. Many organizations may not yet be set up but will be in the days ahead. We will update this list as we hear from friends and colleagues with additional information. In the meantime, individually and as a firm, we will do our part for you, just as Houston has done so many times for its Louisiana neighbors. Thank you.
