LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors (LaPorte) is proud to announce that Anthony Rutledge, CPA, MBA, Audit and Assurance Services Director in the firm’s Covington office, has been selected to serve as the 2025–2026 Chair of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants (LCPA). In this leadership role, Anthony will help guide the statewide organization of more than 6,000 members, shaping policy, overseeing governance, and advancing professional education for CPAs across Louisiana.
Rutledge has been deeply involved with the LCPA for more than a decade, holding numerous leadership positions at both the local and state levels. He has played a pivotal role in the LCPA’s scholarship and education initiatives and previously chaired the budget committee for the LCPA Education Foundation, which supports accounting programs throughout the state. In his role, he also serves as an AICPA Council member, supporting national advocacy efforts and legislative initiatives for the CPA profession and entities it serves.
Beyond his contributions to the profession, Rutledge is a strong advocate for financial literacy, actively participating in LCPA initiatives that equip Louisiana students with essential budgeting and personal finance skills. He also serves on the Southeastern Accounting Accreditation Board, providing insight into strengthening the university’s accounting program and ensuring pathways for future professionals.
Rutledge earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was recognized with the president’s medal, named the distinguished graduate in accounting, and honored as Outstanding Man of the Year. His commitment to the community includes service as a former Leadership Committee Member for the St. Tammany Parish Early Childhood Learning Ready Start Network, active engagement with the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Chambers of Commerce, and as a current board member with the Hope House Children’s Advocacy Center. He is also a recent graduate from the Leadership St. Tammany program and was named a Northshore Forty Under 40 in 2024.
When he’s not leading in the boardroom or volunteering in the community, Rutledge is an avid award-travel hobbyist, using points and miles to travel with his wife and two children while also volunteering his expertise to organizations in the miles and points community and helping individuals repair their credit.
“Anthony’s leadership, dedication to the profession, and commitment to serving the community are an inspiration to all of us here at LaPorte,” said Eric Bosch, LaPorte President and CEO. “We look forward to the vision and energy he will bring to this position in the coming year.”
