Cherish van Mullem, Women of the Year Honoree

LaPorte Tax Director Cherish van Mullem, CPA, JD, LLM, has been selected as one of the honorees of the 2022 Women of the Year award from New Orleans CityBusiness. The Women of the Year list recognizes 50 women from the Greater New Orleans area whose successes in business and contributions to the community have made them movers and shakers in the region.

At LaPorte, Cherish provides tax planning, advisory, and compliance services to a variety of clients, with a focus on estate, gift, and succession planning, as well as state, local, and family business tax planning. She is also a professor at LSU Law School and contributing author to “Estate Planning in Louisiana,” a treatise used as a reference by law students and lawyers.

In addition to her professional duties, Cherish is enthusiastic about serving the community in which she lives and works. She has served, and continues to serve as a board member to a myriad of philanthropic organizations, and kindly provides her legal and financial advice as a volunteer to many organizations with highly successful track records providing assistance to those in need.
