Raneen Badr

At LaPorte, our employees are more than just part of the team—they’re the heart of everything we do. Each individual brings unique skills, experiences, and passions that drive our success and enrich our workplace culture. In our “Faces of LaPorte” series, we’re shining a spotlight on the talented individuals who make LaPorte an exceptional place to work and grow. Through their stories, we aim to celebrate the diverse backgrounds, achievements, and contributions of our team members, giving you a closer look at the people who power our company every day.

LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors is excited to introduce Raneen Badr, one of our tax staff members, as one of our “Faces of LaPorte.” Raneen joined the firm two years ago after her interest was sparked at a recruitment event at the University of New Orleans. She received a full-time offer after graduation to join the firm as a member of our tax staff.

“The people at the firm really drew me to LaPorte in the beginning because of their expertise and willingness to mentor new employees,” said Raneen. “Some of the early on conversations that I had with people really made me realize how supportive they are, and it made me feel confident that I was going to join a collaborative and encouraging work environment.”

Raneen found her passion in tax and joined directly from college to our tax department. With various day-to-day tasks, Raneen enjoys tax preparation, client meetings, and professional development training with the firm.

“I chose tax because I believe tax is a career that teaches you attention to detail and problem solving as well,” said Raneen. “With the continuous changes in the law, it keeps the career evolving and engaging at all times.”

Raneen’s role in the firm expands beyond just her accounting talents. One of her favorite work activities is recruiting on university campuses.

“I really enjoy interacting with the students, and I really like sharing my experiences at LaPorte and hope to bring in new talent so they can grow with the firm as well,” said Raneen.

Sharing her passion for the firm, Raneen says that she continues to choose LaPorte for its people and culture.

“I am truly surrounded by caring individuals who inspire us every single day,” said Raneen. “The work-life balance, the diverse client groups, and the opportunities to grow are an added bonus.”

With her parents being immigrants from Lebanon, Raneen’s family had a vast influence on her academic and professional success. Raneen says that she is most proud of making her parents proud.

“As a daughter of first-generation immigrants, it was really important to me to find a workplace where I am able to share my culture and stand by my values,” said Raneen. “I am able to do that here at LaPorte, which makes my parents proud and fills me with pride as well.”

Established in 1946, LaPorte is one of the largest independent accounting and business advisory firms in the region, with over 190 personnel in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Covington, and Houma, LA, and in Houston, TX. The firm offers a full range of services, including accounting, audit and assurance, business consulting, and tax planning and compliance.

“I think LaPorte’s superpower is versatility. I think that the LaPorte family aren’t just accountants,” said Raneen. “They are parents, coaches, teachers, community volunteers. They balance so much, and they do it all and do it well.”
