ABOUT JONATHAN

Jonathan began his public accounting career in 2005 and joined LaPorte in 2015 where he focuses on serving high net worth individuals, family groups, and privately owned businesses. He advises clients on matters such as federal and state taxation, estate taxation and planning, international tax matters, financial statement disclosures, transaction planning, and cash flow planning and forecasting. Jonathan’s industry experience includes energy, real estate and construction.

ENERGY

As a member of the LaPorte Energy Industry Group, Jonathan primarily works with high net worth individuals and family groups who have privately held oil and gas companies, including some midstream companies. He works closely with his clients to create robust, well-thought-out succession plans, consults with them on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies, and assists with transaction planning.

REAL ESTATE

A member of the LaPorte Real Estate Industry Group, Jonathan provides real estate and other clients with accounting and tax services. He has worked with developers and investors, as well as with owners of multi-family housing projects, storage facilities, shopping centers, and office buildings. Jonathan assists these clients in the areas of real estate accounting, taxation, and planning. He also has experience in transaction structuring; acquisition and disposition planning; and entity of choice, at-risk, and basis issues, along with other related support services for real estate clients. Additional experience includes operating agreement structuring and language; special tax allocations; capital gain strategies; 1031 exchanges; and other specialized areas of real estate taxation.
