ABOUT FRANK
Frank began his professional career in public accounting in 2002. His career includes many years with a Big Four accounting firm, during which he served both SEC registrants and closely held, middle-market companies. His clients operate in a range of industries, such as manufacturing, wholesale, financial services, real estate, and healthcare.
He has extensive knowledge in financial reporting under AICPA and PCAOB standards, auditing internal controls over financial reporting, and accounting for business combinations. Frank also has extensive experience in the evaluation of entity-level control frameworks under the COSO framework, the assessment of processes and related key controls, and the evaluation of design and operating effectiveness of key controls. He is a member of LaPorte’s Risk Advisory Services Group.
HEALTHCARE
Frank is a co-leader of the LaPorte Healthcare Industry Group. In addition to audit and assurance services, he regularly serves in an advisory capacity to his clients. For example, he has helped clients develop accounting policies, including understanding the organizational impact of newly adopted accounting standards, such as ASU 2014-09 (Revenues from Contracts with Customers).
In addition, Frank has helped client management make key decisions through helping them understand the options for structuring a transaction and the ramifications of each scenario. He also has executed agreed-upon procedures to assist clients with issuance of bonds, within independence guidelines.
Vital to Frank’s advisory role has been his in-depth understanding of the highly-regulated healthcare industry. For example, when clients are considering options to accomplish their business objectives, he is able to highlight potential impacts to government reimbursement, such as cost report settlements. Frank also has used this knowledge, along with his risk advisory experience, to help clients identify, evaluate, and conclude on design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
