DIRECTOR, AUDIT AND ASSURANCE SERVICES

ABOUT DAWN

Dawn began her professional career with LaPorte in 2000. In addition to performing and reviewing financial and compliance audits for her clients, she provides consulting services related to operational reviews, board governance, implementation of new standards, and industry benchmarking. Dawn serves entities primarily in the nonprofit, public sector, and financial services industries, and she has extensive training in these industries.

NONPROFIT

As co-leader of the LaPorte Nonprofit Industry Group, Dawn’s clients include foundations, charities, trade associations, and quasi-governmental organizations. She has extensive experience providing statewide agreed-upon procedures services required in Louisiana and single audits to these clients when needed.

To enhance her nonprofit practice and commitment to the nonprofit community, Dawn received board member training from the former Louisiana Center for Nonprofit Resources. A strong proponent of volunteerism and giving back, she volunteers on the national editorial board of Thomson Reuters’ Profitable Solutions for Nonprofits newsletter and served as a peer reviewer for the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO) former Standards for Excellence Program, which certified nonprofit organizations that were deemed well managed and responsibly governed. Dawn has completed the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Certificate I and II programs.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Dawn manages and is involved in all aspects of her financial services client engagements, from planning to concurring reviews for SEC-registered entities and FDICIA-reporting entities, mortgage lenders, and community-based financial institutions. She is a member of the Financial Services Industry Group.
