Chavgney Pierce, CPA/ABV



As Director-in-Charge of Tax Services, Chav leads a team of over 60 professionals providing a wide range of compliance and consultative tax services including preparation and filing of state, federal, and international tax returns as well as business acquisitions and dispositions, structuring of business transactions, and tax accounting methods.

 He focuses on tax issues related to partnerships, LLCs, S-corporations, corporations, and estate and gift matters. Chav co-founded LaPorte’s Family and Owner-Managed Business Division. He helps families develop ownership, business, and succession plans to meet the challenges of generational transfer.

Chav’s business valuation experience covers a variety of industries and purposes, including mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift tax planning, marital dissolutions, and buy/sell agreements. He provides strategic planning, cash-flow management, and corporate coaching to his clients. In addition, Chav’s litigation experience includes providing forensic accounting services in cases involving business valuation, business interruption, divorce, lost wages, fraud investigations, and insurance matters.

A frequent presenter for the firm and at local organization meetings, Chav has spoken on trending tax topics as well as on family business and valuation issues. He began his professional career in 1995.


As a member of the LaPorte Dealership Industry Group, Chav assists clients with tax preparation, cash-flow management, real estate matters, and dealership valuations for the purpose of generational transfer.


A member of the LaPorte Real Estate Industry Group, Chav has extensive knowledge in tax accounting, with a focus on real estate transactions. His experience includes valuing real estate businesses for the various purposes of financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift planning, marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, and buy/sell agreements.


Chav, a member of the Transaction Advisory Services Group, assists clients by guiding them through the process of selling their businesses and understanding the tax or personal implications of the sale. He also helps business owners review and understand their financial statements so that they can maximize the value from the sale.
