Anthony M. Rutledge, CPA, MBA

ABOUT ANTHONY

During his career, Anthony has performed internal control and financial audits, reviews, and compilations for a variety of clients, including construction and marine services, software developers, technology service providers, educational organizations, nonprofit organizations, governments, and healthcare entities.

He has assisted clients with numerous engagement needs, including internal control evaluations, information technology system reviews, benchmarking analyses, license applications, federal and state regulatory cost reporting requirements, indirect and internal cost allocation reviews, capital construction fund engagements, mergers and acquisitions, and implementation of technical pronouncements. Anthony also assists clients with both implementing the new revenue recognition standard and the new lease accounting standard. He began his career in public accounting in 2009.

CONSTRUCTION

Anthony has led audit and consulting services engagements for diverse types of construction and marine services companies conducting business in the Gulf South. These clients include state and civil contractors, commercial general and subcontracts, offshore oil and gas service providers, pipeline management, vessel management, and other specialty trades. As a member of LaPorte’s Construction Industry Group, he is well-versed in the unique characteristics of construction accounting and has attended various state and national construction-specific conferences, including the annual AICPA Construction Industry Conference and the Construction Finance Management Association annual education conference.

NONPROFIT

Anthony is an engagement leader on many of the firm’s nonprofit engagements. A member of the Nonprofit Industry Group, he has extensive experience with nonprofit accounting principles, including revenue recognition implementation, contribution accounting, and investment management. Anthony’s nonprofit clients primarily include charter schools, educational service organizations, and business leagues. Many of these clients require federal compliance audits under Uniform Guidance and additional quasi-public requirements prescribed by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor.

RISK ADVISORY SERVICES

In the fast-growing Risk Advisory Services Group, Anthony is highly qualified in assisting his clients with Service Organizational Control (SOC) reports. He has extensive knowledge in the System and Organization and Controls (SOC) suite of services, including SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC readiness engagements. Anthony’s experience includes the evaluation of various financial and entity-level controls under the COSO framework and the Trust Services Criteria. Such evaluations include the assessment of processes and related key controls and the evaluation of design and operating effectiveness of key controls. He is a member of the Risk Advisory Services Group.
